Explanation of Happiness Index Vedic astrology considers 7 planets Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn as having the most important influence on a horoscope chart. These 7 Planets are in perpetual motion around the zodiac signs. The specific influence they exert upon an individual's horoscope chart is monitored by reference to their relative position in different zodiac signs. These 7 Planets complete a full circle of 12 Zodiac signs as per following schedule.
Thus, Moon is the fastest moving planet and Saturn and Jupiter are the slowest moving planets. Vedic astrology has a quantitative method of computing the beneficial effects of each of these 7 planets around the 12 zodiac signs. For each chart, it gives a unique number of beneficial points attributed to each of these planets as they transit from one zodiac sign to another. These points remain unique throughout a person's life. As per Vedic astrology, the movement of Saturn and Jupiter creates long-term macro signatures in a person's life, and their impact on a chart can be measured fairly accurately. When Saturn has at least 3 and Jupiter has at least 4 beneficial points each in a particular Zodiac sign, than an astrologer concludes, that the influence of Saturn & Jupiter are normal will give positive results. There will not be any major negative influence of these two planets during the transit period in question. Thus the combined sum of beneficial points for Saturn & Jupiter is 7 points (3 for Saturn plus 4 for Jupiter). In the Happiness Index graph, a combined total of 7 forms the base line or the X-Axis, and represents the normal or average state of happiness in a person's life. Whenever the combined sum is higher than 7, the graph shows a positive bar over the base line or X-Axis, representing more than average happiness in a person's life for the given transit period. The maximum value of combined positive points can be 8 above the 7. This will be represented by a positive bar graph of a maximum 8 points over the base line or X-Axis. So the theoretical maximum value of combined benefic units can be said to be 8 + 7 = 15 points. Whenever the combined total is less than 7, the graph will show a negative bar below the X-Axis, representing less than average happiness in a person's life. The theoretical minimum value of combined benefic units can be 0 points. This will be represented by a negative bar of a maximum of -7 points below the base line or the X-Axis.
