The American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society suggest that we limit our fat intake to 30 percent of total calories. Knowing which foods tend to be high in fat, particularly saturated fat is important. Red meat, poultry, fish, butter, milk, eggs, and cream are among the most fatty unprocessed foods in the American diet.
Processed food is often high in such saturated fats as coconut oil, palm oil, and palm kernel oil.
