Most nuts, including almond, walnut, pine nut, pistachio and cashew, are sweet, heavy, hot, oily, aphrodisiac and strengthening. They build up the body, cure vata, and increase pitta and kapha. Of these, almond is regarded as superior, being rejuvenative.
