This in effect means that the effect of Saturn's Transit will be felt by a person through its journey over three houses, each of a duration of 2 years and 6 months (as explained above) - hence a total of 7 Years and 6 months. This complete period of Saturn's transit is known as the 'Sade Sati' or seven and a half while each of the three legs of its transit over the three houses in question is known as 'Dhaiya' or two and an half.
What happens during this 7½ year period Normally one experiences at least 2 Sade Sati periods in life. Each of them in spaced out by approximately 30 years. This transit is also called, Elerata in western astrology. Many fear this 7½ year period. However, all planets have a purpose in the cosmic drama and Saturn is the planet of responsibility and focus. For most people, failure to comprehend and focus on true responsibility leads to distress and unhapiness during the 7½ year Sade Sati period. However, it must be noted that in the cosmic drama, Saturn does test and at times punish but then again not so for everyone. There are a lucky few for whom the period of Saturn can prove to be auspicious as well. |
